You can easily change the password if you have access to your WordPress account.
1. Log in to the WordPress dashboard.
2. From the Dashboard menu, go to Users and click on Profile.
3. Scroll down to Account Management and click on Set New Password.
4. Copy the password to a safe place and click on Update Profile to change your password.
You can also reset password with below 02 options:
Option 1: Reset Password Using Softaculous
- Log in to cPanel and open WordPress Manager by Softaculous.
- Locate your website and click Manage Users.
- From the Username dropdown, select [admin].
- Generate a new password:
- Click the key icon below the "Password" field to generate a secure password.
- Click Show to display the password, and copy it to a safe place.
- Click Save to update the password.
✅ Done! You can now use the new password to log in.
Option 2: Reset Password Using WP Toolkit
- Log in to cPanel and open WP Toolkit.
- Locate your website and expand the details.
- Click Setup (next to the Login option below the website thumbnail).
- Generate a new password:
- Click Generate for a secure password.
- Click the eye icon to reveal it, and save it securely.
- Click Change to update the password.
✅ Done! You can now use the new password to log in.
Note: If you encounter the following error:
Unable to update site administrator settings: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function PHPMailer\PHPMailer\mail() in /home/username/public_html/wp-includes/PHPMailer/PHPMailer.php:881
OR facing error while resetting password from WordPress Admin Dashboard like below:
This indicates email SMTP is not configured in WordPress. To resolve this:
- Log in using Softaculous SSO and then set up Any SMTP Plugin i.e. Fluent SMTP in WordPress and than reset the password again.
